R-Type Delta Custom Game Engine

About this project

For one of our school projects we were asked to create our own game engine in order to recreate a classic game. So me together with 2 other programmers set out to recreate R-type delta. While the others were tasked with the engines graphics and workings I was tasked on working on the games gameplay and physics. Here is a small list of what I worked on for this project:


  • Collision system
  • Enemy spawning
  • Enemy tentacle spawning
  • Player movement & firing
  • Player weapon throwing and reattaching
  • Level scrolling
